Allan Kausch makes fantastical collages that creep into your mind, no matter the subject. Eerie scenes of war and destruction merged with turn of the century animal illustrations, lonely men tied down and tortured by time, portraits with surrealistic, disconnected heads. I’m not usually attracted to a “vintage” aesthetic, but something about this work sticks with me.
